Rich Werner is an Artist/Animator working and living in the greater Seattle WA area.

After graduating from The Art Institute of Seattle in the year 2000 he began his career as a video game artist.

His first endeavor in gaming was for the company Interactive Imaginations starting in the year 2000 until 2002. During this time he was an artist for the Collectible Trading Card CCG called Magi-Nation. At first as a background artist for the Gameboy Color version of the game and then later as a designer for the card game itself.

After working for Interactive Imaginations He began working for the company Amaze Entertainment where he was a background artist working in the handheld games department called Griptonite Studios. In the years 2002 through 2005 he worked on many titles including, Harry Potter, Robots, Lemony Snicket, and Shrek Super Slam.

In 2006 He left Amaze to work for McGraw Hill making learning games for kids. After a short stint at McGraw Hill he had an opportunity to join a small company (at the time around 25 people) called PopCap Games.

From the year 2005-2012 He worked on games such as Peggle and Bejeweled 2, creating some of the background art.  He also worked on Peggle 2 as a Character Designer. His biggest accomplishment was being the original Artist, Animator and Character Designer for the game Plants VS Zombies.

He also created the Logo and the original font used for Zombie speak.

In 2012 Rich left Popcap to venture out on his own and has since released the game Octogeddon in 2018. Currently available on STEAM for PC and now being ported to other platforms available soon.

Aside from working on video games Rich also works on various freelance and commission artwork.
